WETEX 2026 Brings Green Mobility and Energy Technology to Dubai
DEWA will hold the 28th WETEX at Dubai World Trade Centre from 20–22 October 2026, covering green mobility, renewable energy, smart grids, AI, hydrogen and sustainable cities.
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority will organise the 28th Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition at Dubai World Trade Centre from 20 to 22 October 2026 (DEWA media release). WETEX 2026 will span energy, water, green development, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, decarbonisation, green mobility, hydrogen and sustainable cities (DEWA media release). DEWA describes WETEX as a meeting point for businesses, government entities, investors, experts and decision-makers to exchange knowledge, examine technologies and explore commercial opportunities (DEWA media release).
WETEX began in 1999 with a focus on water management, added energy in 2001 and incorporated environmental themes in 2004 (DEWA media release). WETEX expanded into green-building solutions and carbon-emissions reduction in 2008, followed by clean and renewable energy and smart grids in 2012 (DEWA media release). WETEX coincided with the launch of the World Green Economy Summit in 2014, while the Dubai Solar Show launched in 2016 as regional renewable-energy projects moved toward larger-scale development (DEWA media release). WETEX later added artificial intelligence, cyber security, green mobility, hydrogen and sustainable-city technologies to its programme (DEWA media release).
The 27th edition, WETEX 2025, occupied 95,000 square metres and hosted 3,100 exhibitors, 18 international pavilions and 68 sponsors (DEWA media release). WETEX 2025 welcomed more than 50,000 visitors and facilitated 7,862 business-to-business and business-to-government meetings (DEWA media release). Country pavilions from Asia, Europe and North America connected international suppliers with regional markets investing in electricity, water, renewable energy and sustainable infrastructure (DEWA media release). WETEX 2025 also increased its focus on smart grids, artificial intelligence, sustainable mobility, and health and safety (DEWA media release).
For the Chinese new-energy vehicle sector, green mobility sits within a broader WETEX 2026 discussion covering energy storage, smart grids, artificial intelligence and sustainable urban infrastructure (DEWA media release). WETEX uses technology showcases, meetings, negotiations, seminars and dedicated zones to connect participating companies with investors, government bodies and other market participants (DEWA media release). The combination gives Chinese EV manufacturers, charging suppliers and energy-technology companies a defined Dubai venue for examining how vehicles, electricity networks and sustainable-city systems may intersect, although DEWA has not identified individual Chinese automotive brands in the supplied announcement (DEWA media release).
