NIO Power Swap Stations Cross 3,000 in China — No Confirmed GCC Rollout for 2026

NIO has confirmed its mainland-China Power Swap Station network passed 3,000 active stations in May 2026, but no Gulf rollout has been announced for 2026. UAE NIO owners continue to operate their cars as conventional plug-in EVs.

NIO Inc. confirmed in its May 2026 operational update that its Power Swap Station (PSS) network in mainland China crossed the 3,000 active station milestone. The network now covers all province-level capitals and connects every major intercity expressway corridor.

No new region was added to NIO's announced PSS roadmap for 2026. The European pilot remains limited (Norway, Germany, Netherlands), and the Gulf Cooperation Council region — including the UAE — has not been confirmed as a 2026 priority. Public guidance from NIO's investor communications signals that any Middle East PSS entry would follow a confirmed regional sales subsidiary, which NIO has not announced.

UAE-resident NIO owners — drivers of imported ET5T, ET7, EC6, and ES6 units — continue to operate the vehicles as conventional plug-in EVs, using AC home wallbox + DC public CCS2 charging.
